The only problem with the death penalty is, it isn't used consistently enough, except for in Texas and La.
Years ago a man was arrested for kidnapping and raping a man's young son. The father waited in the airport for the police to walk through with the sicko then he shot the rapist dead. The father was not convicted. That was awesome.
Wow. You are one sick sicko. I still don't see the point of sending people to die. More deaths. Yay?
Easy, when you, as a human, take a human life, you forfeit yours.
Sicko? Whatever. People should pay in kind for their transgressions. You take the life of my loved one, and your life is forfeit. It's the most rational and natural of human laws. |

It should be mandatory for treason, sedition, murder, desertion in time of war and sleeping at your post in time of war, and rape, as well as extreme cases of non-rape sexual assaults against children, and be an option for extreme cases of sexual assault or other assault (such as something which results in dismemberment, etc.), extreme cases of arson (especially if someone dies), and extreme cases of theft. The original definition of a felony in the US was any crime which could potentially result in the death penalty, and was even more encompassing than the list I have provided. We should also bring back corporal punishment for more petty crimes; it brings pain, shame, and humilitation, doesn't qualify as cruel and unusual punishment, and reduces prison overcrowding.
Imagine these dirty corporate pirates like Ken Lay in stocks on the middle of the town square for 2 days!!
Awesome! |

| Not only the feeling but the public humiliation would be worse than some of the shorter prison sentences, from the eye of the punishee. It would serve as a deterrence to some. Would you shoplift if you knew that if caught, you would likely be fined, and recieve 30 lashes in public, where everyone can see that it's you? |

Laws have evolved over the years, however, the earliest socieites executed. Eye for an eye. Think of the cost associated with keeping a murderer in prison for life. Now think, who pays for their food, warm blankets, HBO and video games? You.
Another thing to ponder on. If someone took a life, can you ever really trust them not to do it again? |

| Depends upon the situation. Good people have been known to kill in extreme circumstances. |

........erm.
Okay, so say you're driving late at night, you fall asleep at the wheel and hit someones kid who should have been in bed but the parents left them unattended, so they went for a wander. How does that one translate in "eye for an eye" land? |

| ^^ I support eye for an eye only when the crime was intentional. For manslaughter of this sort, the driver should be locked up for a long time. |
