To depict the Carnival as a celebration of 'multiculturalism' is like saying Eastenders is an accurate portrayal of the E postcodes in London or that Brookside was a simulacrum of Liverpool. See the Carnival for what it is - a good boozy/druggy blow-out at August Bank Holiday for at least a couple of years, then you grow out of the crowd scene and graduate to partying on some W2/W11 balcony then finally you watch it on TV.
