I'm leaving tomarrow for a local pagan festival, it's nearly 5 days and 4 nights long and takes place out in the middle of the boonies.

It's been at least a year now since I've become associated with Enki and Inanna, and seeing as it's so important to my personal spirituality, I figure it's about time to have a dedication rite. I take this sort of thing seriously, I will only have to do it once, and I intend to speak only what I truly feel. Although I plan to perform this ritual during a festival with many other pagans, I fully intend to do it completely alone, in a secluded area, as it has nothing to do with anyone other than myself and my gods.

I suppose dedication is important to me because I was once a JOS'ist(which is a time of my life that I celebrate... I do have a large bit of disdain towards the JOS however...), I see it as a ritual that will make my gods my true family, and will allow me to pool my energy with theirs, and it will allow us to communicate more openly, And they will be able to better protect me from those spiritual foes which I cannot battle alone, it's to be a give and take relationship, I don't believe in freeloading from my gods.

My question to others is, have you ever done a dedication ritual of some kind? What did you do? Blood or no blood? How important is it to you in your spirituality? Discuss!

When I dedicated myself to Paganism, I went into a place that I thought of as very sacred in a personal way. I didn't use any blood, because I did not think of it as being necessary. However, others may think differently.

My only suggestion is to do what you find right for yourself.

I thought pagan was a term to define non secular religions. Such as
denominations. Can you be Christian and not believe in the bible? Or its
terms. Well what I mean by terms are the populous. The Majority of Bible
believers. does that make one Pagan?

Alula "Pagan" was a roman term for...well its not just non secular religions its...History...it refers to people that lived outside the major settlements, in the boondocks...read the history go to wikipedia.org and look it up...Christianity was an urban religion at the time everyone else outside the cities worshiped other deities. As for the rest of your question its what is in your heart...you could still hold to belief that god is for you, but still follow the ways of a pagan...some pagan religions are more of a philosophy than a church...druidry for instance.
