David... Quote: That's beginning to sound more like a hard ware or a compatibility problem.

| Ah! At last! Here he comes! I can hear heavy panting and running footsteps approaching at a fast clip! |

As for all of those icons in the system tray - I pretty much need all of them at startup.
My ZoneAlarm anti-virus icon... my email alerter... my Yankee Clipper 3 clipboard (because my windows clipboard too often fails to copy-and-paste)... my Roboform auto-login which warns me that if I removed it from here it will no longer work.... my 'Unlocker' for stubborn processes which won't delete using the usual method... my epson printer icon... my spellchecker... volume control....
But anyway - the problem's all but solved! When Protostar gets back from his lunch break he's going to show me how to fix the taskbar...
 Lunck break? its 12:30 AM! What time is it in Austrialia? Anyway, from your screenshot it looks like you minimized the taskbar completely. Just move the cursor down until it changes to the up/down cursor and slowly drag it up. |

But guess what, folks? Yes, you guessed it - just in the last few minutes while we've all been waiting for Protostar to take a dump in the john I've solved the double-tiered taskbar problem myself!
Oh Happy Days!
But I don't want to preempt Protostar's explanation about how this minor miracle was achieved. So I'll keep quiet for now...
Maestro... ? Lights! Music! Cameras roll! Ladies and Gentlemen - I give you... (drum roll)... PROTOSTAR!!!!

At last! 'The Return of Protostar' - the sequel!
And no! - you've got it wrong.
(It's 2.35pm here in Sydney).
I placed the cursor on one of the 'stippled verticals' in the taskbar and left-clicked and held down when horizontal double arrow-heads appeared. From then it was just a matter of dragging this horizontally to expand or contract. It took a bit more jiggling around as well.
What I don't understand is that when I tried this manoeuvre within a couple of minutes of this problem first appearing - nothing happened. Nothing would move. |
