I believe there is a polarisation in the US ever since Septemer 2001, and people are feeding off the tentions caused by this polarisation. 9/11 victims are used as propaganda material, there's an increased focus on "the others", in order to cause fear and further tentions. There is a drive and a movement to dissolve and corrupt truths of times gone by. People are told that only through war will they find unity. People are told that "they" are a threat to them, to their loved ones, to all Americans. People are told to be devout to their Leader, to listen even when he whispers. People are told to be still, to stand in line, to nod and to applaud their Leader's great wisdom. People are told that they should die for their Leader's visions. You must all fight for the Fatherland! Pay no attention to the men lining their pockets at Halliburton. Pay no attention to the threat of global warming. Pay no attention to the NSA. Pay no attention to influential men talking about "American hegemony" at Project for a New American Century. Pay no attention to the problems at home. Focus on something thousands of miles away. See the vision! Understand why a war in a foreign land will fix all your problems at home.

you make it out to be that all americans are dumb clods stumbling around in the dark.

this of course is wholly untrue.

That's your interpretation. It's more a vision of what some of the more shadowy and dubious characters in US politics want.

Some people find in division, war, and fear only opportunity and wealth. There is nothing normal people can do because we are faced with the realization that if we do not allow the exploitation of others we must alone bear the exploitation of those who feed on the dreams and efforts of the world. To have peace we must endure justice. To have justice we must give to each their due, and yet recognize that there will never be enough justice to go around, and be prepared to accept all the injustice we can to have peace, because in peace there is much justice. Ask: Could it really be this simple?

There are many americans that are dumb clots standing around in the dark. Fortunately, there are many americans that are not.

many plus many equals more then the original number.

the reason foreigners think america is stupid is because the people who travel to foreign countries don't know jack s**t about it and act complete retards.

the fact that europeans automatically assume that if you can't speak their language that you're a complete moron doesn't help either.

Meh, that's just perception. And there's little you can do to change that.

I understand what you mean! If all the Americans knew what our government really does, has done, and plan to do. Would we actually do something then, or just go about the day as if it doesn't matter "the government knows best". I've asked at least 30 people if they knew America has concentration camps, and not one knew!!! Why? why can't we know? we walk around in the darkness and our guide "Bush" is to busy worrying how to feed his greed

The whole drive of the Neo-Con agenda are unity through a common enemy. Anyone who pays attention knows this.

It was the Communists and now its the Terrorists...

Ofcourse not all Americans are stupid... but Americans do seem to have this desire to blindly follow there leader. For a nation built on rebellion this is a bit odd...

provide some proof for that.

I believe he may refer to Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay, Bagram, and perhaps the secret CIA operated prisons Bush admited existed.

those aren't exactly concentration camps. "secret" prisons yes, but concentration camps, no.

I enjoy the sarcasm, the victoms of the 9/11 were used as a sort of propaganda, but the administration failed at keeping the hold of nationalism with something else going on. One thing someone should notice about United States and their approval of the president and the administration is that, for the most part, do something. Before the war in Iraq Bush's approval rating was atleast decent, but because of it and a couple other things people are losing faith in their leader. As long as you do something legal and somewhat productive the american mob will turn the other way but this administration failed at that.
