I and Dad had quarreled about stock tonight............. :arhhg:
My mother is a teacher and Dad is a worker, and I'm still in study, that means though my family can't be called "poor" , it can't be called "rich" either.
My Dad falled in love with stock and he invest nearly 180000 yuan(about 22000 dollars, 1 dollars = 7.96 yuan ) in stock market.
I think it's carzy that the stock is full of risk. The price will arise quickly, and it will fall down quickly too!!!!
If I make some count of money,I would rather depoist them,at least this way is more safe
So ,I sold some of the stock he held(maybe half of it ),when he knowed that tonight.....he yelled at me,scolded me.
Oh,I hate stock

In America, stocks do better (over the long term) than almost any other investment.

Both. In America, they recommend a mix of investments. Too much in one area is risky.

You made the right decision, stock is down.... commodities (gold, silver, copper) are up.... Stock is currently at risk.

about half a year back i was telling people gold was going up and over the next few months it gained about 20%. Silver gained even more...

Haven't looked at the situation recently, but maybe it's worth looking into.

I'm not sure. I think stocks in China could still do well (if export stocks), but that really does depend on the world economic conditions (which may be worsening in the US, but better in the EU).

I would only invest in Chinese shares of companies which export products to the EU.
