ABC news doesn't have the full stroy yet, but you get the idea.

Quite a few of the scenarios were interesting, black holes, astoriods, super volcanoes, nuclear war, ect.
But, what was kind of pathectic, was global warming was number one. I mean please, global warming won't wipe out the human race.
Does anyone agree?
No. Part of the cause of the greatest extinction event our earth has endured, the Permian-Triassic extinction, is believed to have been as a result of a large release of methane hydrate from the ocean floor as a result of a rise in sea temperatures. Global warming will cause rising sea temperatures.
Cheers, Eternal I have a book entitled when life nearly died which goes into this extinction in detail. There is far more detail about this, the largest extinction in human history than a simple rising of the ocean temperature. One thing is certain about this though, it wasn't man made. |

A very brief summary of events was that the earth was hit by a large meteor which caused enormous volcanic activity to occur. The volcanic activity spewed ash into the atmosphere (amongst other things) which in turn increased the mean temperature of the earth (global warming).
That in itself is not what caused the overall extinction (although it did kill a sh1tload of life). What eventually done the planet in was the release of the frozen methane hydrate in the ocean floor which began to evapourate as a result of rising sea temperatures. It was the methane gas that was the big killer.

The global warming is a serious problem to us but not the number one I think. We can handle it with technology's devolopment. |

| Just thought I would throw this out there. As for Global warming, our factories produce way less pollution as do our automobiles and other transportation. Our cities used to have horrible smog alerts, especially in California which almost never happen anymore. With increased emissions standards and our vehicles running at a fuel efficiency, our problems that may be causing Global warming should be lessening over time. |
