The majority vote that made Israel possible was made of invisible non-nations.

Why should Israel care about these resolutions when the original resolution mandating for two separate states was completely ignored by the surrounding Arab nations and the Palestinians?

quick question. who do you guys think cares more about MAD?

Israelis - people who say they're fighting for their survival anyways

Iran - comprised of a percentage of people who welcome martyrdom anyways

That said, neither should have nukes. F*** nukes. American ones, Israeli ones, Russian ones, Iranian ones, French ones, whatever. I don't care. Anything that gives you control of millions of people's lives is BAD. Restraint is a trait not every politician shares. Hunger for power is. A power-hungry politician without restraint as the leader of any one of these countries? BAD.

Nukes are here to stay. We can't go backwards and pretend the technology doesn't exist, nor empty the arsenals of nuclear states and hope everyone plays well with one another. If building a nuclear weapon and a delivery system is within the scope of human ability, and it obviously is, nuclear weapons will exist. So, better democratized states that grasp the policies of containment and deterrence and MAD have them, than relinquish what will exist anyway and become asymmetrical tools of torn, cleft, and failed states that in the absence of parity would rush to acquire such a resource.

As for Israel having nukes, knowledge of that on the part of her enemies is probably what's kept her on the map. A bomb in the basement can be a good thing.

I said no, reason is non-proliferation.

That said, I believe Israel has the most well known non-declared nuclear program in the world.

Unlike Iran, however:

Quote: Israel - Israel is not a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and refuses to officially confirm or deny having a nuclear arsenal, or to having developed nuclear weapons, or even to having a nuclear weapons program. Although Israel claims that the Negev Nuclear Research Center near Dimona is a "research reactor," no scientific reports based on work done there have ever been published. Extensive information about the program in Dimona was also disclosed by technician Mordechai Vanunu in 1986. Imagery analysts can identify weapon bunkers, mobile missile launchers, and launch sites in satellite photographs. It is believed to possess nuclear weapons by the International Atomic Energy Agency. Israel may have tested a nuclear weapon along with South Africa in 1979, but this has never been confirmed (see Vela Incident). According to the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Federation of American Scientists, they possess 75-200 weapons.[21]

That they denied that they have denied anything officially is probably very telling.

yeah i kinda thought they already had 'em too............krafty indeed.
