Jews have been intellectuals throughout the centuries because of their "special" place within the society as people who are excluded from the "regular" social activities [as in the feudal times]. So, intellectualism is in a way a method of protest because when a people are excluded from the larger society, they tend to develop critical skills as they could see the society from its fringes.
As for why Muslims have not been able to produce noble prize winners, there are various factors. I believe the most important factor is the fact that most Muslims live in third world countries where rationality is still rejected to a large extent and where matters of faith dominate the discussion. So, science and arts in effect are slaves of faith in such countries and in such conditions, it is difficult for science and arts to thrive. |

| Anwar Sadat most definatly deserves his place on the list, he paved the way for peace in the Arab-Israeli wars, when he made peace with us the real threat of another large Arab-Israeli war fell into ash. Egypt was and still is the most powerful and with it's withdrawel it left a vacuum that could not be filled and led to a more passive Syria and peace from Jordan. He silenced the guns and died for it, if anyone is a martyr it is him. |

| Wasn't is a Muslim who first realised the basic principle of light? Before him, the most popular belief was that light shone from our eyes.... |

How pray tell is it racism? He has yet to claim that Jew's are inherently smarter or better than muslems or that muslims are inherintly stupid or ill equipped intellectually.
What it does display is that Jew's of the 20th-21st century have contributed an immense amount to intellectual objectives. It also shows a minimal amount of that contribution for reasons that have been put forth muslims have not. |

This has nothing to do with anything , I just found the facts interesting. You all can show your true colors as far as I care. |
