Now i know this isnt a plausible idea, and i am just putting it out there as a theoretical plan. IF we could somehow kill every single person in the world who has an STD, wouldnt that be a great idea? I mean, sure, a lot of people would die. BUT, when you look at the long run and the big picture, wouldnt we be saving many more lives by effectively eliminating all STDs for good? And plus, we'd be saving a lot of money too because then we can stop funding so much research for AIDS cures and whatnot.
Correct me if i am wrong, but this sounds like a great idea to me (theoretically at least).... |

Well, do you know any people with STDs? Believe it or not, you probably do.
Do you want that only to be for AIDS, or can it be for treatable STDs as well? Gonnorhea is very easily treatable by antibiotics. You wanna kill people with gonnorhea? Syphilis is also treatable. |

| When syphillis first came to Europe it made people's jaws fall off. Everyone that had the life-ending version of it died off, and along with them so died the worst forms of the disease. The other version that some people have that is not life threatening still exists, simply because those people live another day to spread it. However, since STDs are only spread through certian means, it would be quite a stupid thing to kill everyone with the disease. If you don't want it, don't sleep around. Is it that hard? |

Mass murder to accomplish a goal? Very Hitleresque. Would you also deem it plausible for all people with deformities, handicaps, or mental disabilities as well to be killed?
How would you go about killing these people? Would AIDS be the only STD? If so, that's 14,000 new cases worldwide perday with an estimated 25 million by 2010.
Not only isn't it plausible, it's genocidal on the scale that is Hitler + Stalin + Mao and is probably the most idiotic solution to a problem I've heard of yet. To make an analogy, this is like cutting off a leg because of an infected toenail. |

| wow, that is some extremist thinking :shock: other forms of STD's are generally livable with treatment. Most are bacterial infections that are cured with anti biotics. Even aids nowadays more and more people are succesfully living much longer and much healthier lives. It is still a killer and we should still keep its cure as a top priority but how about let's let people live. :wink: |

They're also transmissible by blood, most of them. |

Yeah. Plus HIV for example is believed to have come from a monkey originally. |

That was a pretty good one. Good thing our FLE classes in school don't teach anything realistic... like using a condom is better then nothing at all. No they just "don't have sex". That's brilliant. |

Sounds like Mass Murder and Nazism to me. If we were somehow given the magic power to do something like that, why not use it to cure all those people of their STDs? |
