I have friends who are coppers. Good blokes. You get to know a lot them on the Jitsu circuit and they even let you take a swing at them with getting arrested :D
Having said that, as with any job, there are good guys and unbearable arseholes in every profession. Unfortunately, the law enforcement profession does attract it's fair share of power-mad crypto-facists who like to strut around in uniforms ordering people what to do. Most of them aren't like that though. The best policy when dealing with them is to treat them with respect and that will generally be reciprocated. If it isn't, an impression of polite assertiveness will give them reason to know that you know your rights and won't be bullied by them. |

| The giving out tickets thing for small stuff seems like just another way for them to sap money from our wallets, if you ask me. |
