|
|
BATFE Disclaimer, I do not intend to illegally convert any of my guns to full auto.
I just want to know how. :-D
So my question is how are these manuals at diagraming and explaining to a lay person the differences between the commonly available semi-auto versions and the full-auto versions?

I have a couple of manuals for converting an AK semi auto version to selective. Actually it is a fairly good manual and all, but I have yet to do it by the book anyway.
Probably should not have said that but what the hell...
All in all there are some real good books that are published by Palladin Press that like those you listed that are relatively inexpensive.
Good point :tu: dumb thought on my part  |

| Properly converting a gun to full-auto requires fabrication unless you can get your hands on certain parts. The easiest way is to make an FAL-style action. This involves a lever setup that yanks the disconnect from retaining the hammer. The trigger is a rod at the front of the bolt that is activated by the bolt being in it's full-foward position and recess it rides in when not. You can make it select fire by making an external lever that retracts the rod from contact with the bolt, letting the disconnector work. That's as specific as I'm getting. |

| I figure if I bought one of those books, I would be on a watch list in 23 seconds. |

LOL, me too, but I really am just curious as to how its done. I'm interested in having the knowledge and preserving it if need be. I don't even own any of the guns that could be converted. |

Yeah, knowing how to do it would be good, but, I have an AK, AR, SKS, and a Hi-Point 995. I was wrong, I would be on the watch list in 15 seconds.
The only way I would ever buy one would be at a yard sale, totally untraceable. 8:) |
