:) i have a pc game on my desktop in the form of an iso image, i read that one must burn iso files to a disk (cd/dvd) and then play the game that way.
i have no dvd disks at the moment and am asking if it's possible to play the game without burning it to a dvd? |

It doesn't have to be burned to a DVD unless it came from a DVD, otherwise there won't be enough space to burn to. An ISO file is simply an image file. You have to get an ISO burner like Nero or freeware like HT Fireman and select ISO burn to do it correctly.
I'm assuming you are merely making a backup of a game you have already purchased for obvious legal reasons and the protection of PCF. Most likely this backup copy won't work just burning an ISO, without certain files it will let you install the game, but will not read the disk to authorize you to play the game as most games scan the disk from the tray while playing them. They do make products like Game Copy Pro that make an exact copy that does authorize game play, however you need the original game disks, and of course you have those, you're making backups. |

Here is another option.
http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/b/6/7b6abd84-7841-4978-96f5-bd58df02efa2/winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.exe
This little gizmo from Microsoft will allow an ISO image to be a virtual CD player.
Not sure if it works on DVD ISOs, but I don't see why not. |

| Daemon tools is a wonderful DVD emulator, just google it. It works for all my . . . unconventionally obtained games. Legal in and of itself, though. |

well, i just found and read about this before coming back to this thread, it seems that daemon tools is the program what will allow us to play games without burning. |
