But then again, most people understand that TV isn't run by the goverment and therefore isn't propaganda. Like I said, it is convenient to be able to deny everything just by claiming it is government propaganda, but eventually people figure out that it is just you living in denial and not something even remotely resembling reality.
TV is run by the same corporations that run the government.
Pretty much everything on TV is propaganda.
What isn't propeganda? And what TV Corporations are owned by the government? Yew haven't provided a shred of evidence yet.
You got it backwards.
I said the government is owned by the corporations. |

It's not plain as day to you that corporations control the government?
* Supreme Court rules that corporations are people
* Supreme Court rules that money is "free speech"
* Supreme Court rules that corporations can take your land (i.e., "eminent domain"), whereas before only government could take your land for "public" purposes?
What more evidence do you need?
Try reading a newspaper or turning on Fox News for a few moments each day. That should be proof enough that corporations rule this government. |

I feel like reading your conclusion actually made me dumber. Does the government own CNN or just Fox News? How about the Discovery Channel? I guess they must since the Discovery Channel completely disproved your theory. And since the news agencies consider you crazy as well, they must be a secret government agency eh?
And can you please provide links proving every one of the points in your last post? As Patriot911 said, it seems like you just want us to take your word for it. |

Yes and no... these companies you cite are not really companies, but rather corporations. Corporations by definition are legal fictions which exist b/c the government permits them to and which are indemnified from a huge range of liabilities (by the taxpayers) that a normal business would be subject to.
So yes, the government does exert some amount of control over these corporations, although the way the system is set up in America, it would be the State government in the State where the corporation is incorporated that would exert the most power (moreso than the Fed government.. unless of course you're talking about a Federal Corporation, as for instance your corporate strawman is).
But by and large, the corporations and the money powers behind them exert a huge amount of influence over the federal government of the United States, and that's what we have under consideration right now.
The Supreme Court rulings I cited above should be common knowledge for every American. If they are not familiar to you, you have absolutely no business posting on a political forum.. in fact, you probably have absolutely no business even carrying American citizenship if you cannot recognize these rulings, but that (I suppose) would be a slightly different matter.
I never ask anyone to "take my word for it".. Anyone would reads my posts and comes away w/ that impression is probably very, very poorly informed. Go out and do your own research. You'll find that what I say is more often than not corroborated by the research you do. |

I have seen some great shows on T.V.
O.K., not a lot, but a few.
Two that stick out the most are "History Undercover:Declassified Human Experimentaion"
and "Jusitce For the Generals"
One was a history channel documentary and one was from PBS.
While I agree that most of the information on T.V. is slanted and that little of it is worth watching, from an information standpoint, I used to watch the news a lot, but not to see what they reported, but to see what they didn't report. |

One of my favorite quotes of all time......

America is not run by the corporations.
America is run by a hodge podge of foundations, corporations, think tanks and groups like the CFR and Trilateral Commission.
This has been told to us by numerous, well respected people more than once.
FDR wrote in a letter to his advisor Col. House, November 21, 1933.....
"I had a nice talk with Jack Morgan the other day. . . . J.P.M. did not seem much troubled over the gold purchasing, and confessed that he had been completely misled in regard to the Federal expenditures.
The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the Government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson . . . . The country is going through a repetition of Jackson's fight with the Bank of the United States - - only on a far bigger and broader basis. . . .
Take care of yourself and do write me soon."
Always sincerely, Franklin D Roosevelt." [21]
Woodrow Wilson discussed the Establishment's awesome power when he wrote his book The New Freedom in 1913: he stated:
"Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.
American industry is not free, as once it was free; American enterprise is not free; the man with only a little capital is finding it harder to get into the field, more and more impossible to compete with the big fellow. Why? Because the laws of this country do not prevent the strong from crushing the weak. That is the reason, and because the strong have crushed the weak the strong dominate the industry and the economic life of this country." [17]
Professor Quigley wrote:
"In 1852, Gladstone, then chancellor of the Exchequer and later prime minister, declared, 'The hinge of the whole situation was this: the government itself was not to be a substantive power in matters of Finance, but was to leave the Money Power supreme and unquestioned.'
This power of the Bank of England . . . was admitted by most qualified observers. In January, 1924, Reginald McKenna . . . as chairman of the board of the Midland Bank, told its stockholders: 'I am afraid the ordinary citizen will not like to be told that the banks can, and do, create money. . . . And they who control the credit of the nation direct the policy of Governments and hold in the hollow of their hands the destiny of the people.'" [25]
Professor Quigley discussed their goal:
"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent private meetings and conferences. The apex of the system was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basle, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank . . . sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by sub- sequent economic rewards in the business world." [26]
The Federal Reserve System subtly removed the gold backing of our currency, purchased the support of "cooperative politicians," and gained control of the foreign and domestic policies of our nation. [27]

There are many other quotes which are similar to those above, but if you just look at the examples another poster wrote above about corporate personhood, eminent domain, as well as other examples, like how the bill was killed to label Genetically Modified foods, how rBGH was approved, or how the Marijuana Tax Act helped to protect specific industries, it is obvious that the corporations do exert an enourmous amount of control in our government.
Only 6 corporations now control 90% of the mass media in the US. WE WERE WARNED ABOUT THIS ALL THE WAY BACK IN 1967 by a former FCC commissioner in the Atlantic Monthly, but people were not interested. Now, it seems many more people are interested, but there are still some people who refuse to admit that the emporer wears no clothes. |
