I trust me with controlling myself, to be responsible for myself and to pay the price or reap the reward. And that is absolutely it.
I trust the government to screw that up. |

i've asked this question to many a person over the course of my life..... most answers are all along the same lines..
" the police ".... "the military".... "the Marine"( yeah.. i was flattered.. but thats besides the point  )
ironically... i have heard that we should entrust "the government" more than a few times.
now... i see the points of the people whom answered the questions.... a certain amount of trust is placed on our governmental authorities to keep watch over our rights...our safety... and yes... even themselves.
here is what i have a problem with.... after admitting that a certain amount of trust is placed on the governments shoulders..... i cant reconcile why a person would place all of their trust like this.....as a US Marine.. and a sworn defenders of all those things in question... I do not and can not advocate placing all of my trust in others.
im not saying or insinuating that government authorities are "out to get us".... nor do i believe their are active "evil" elements inside government whom are hell bent on depriving us of our rights..... i believe the actions of the government are normally meant with good intentions.... but we all know the old saying about good intentions.
here are a couple of examples of those whom are entrusted with our protection taking part in actions i consider offensive and in opposition to the principles of this country
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVACCaVxYEk&NR in this video... we see a government agent..and a police officer....taped through the eyes of a citizen.. a well informed citizen i might add.... ill let you be the judge
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgPR9I4KMNI here is a news report from New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina.... the military is involved in this one
now most reasonable people can see that the authorities in each of the videos are not "evil tyrants".. in fact... they are probably good people just doing a job... with good intentions
I know of only one entity that can be entrusted 100% to ensure my protection.... myself.... and in order to keep the balance of power intact.... my tool of choice is the firearm.... in fact.. i not only intent to balance the power of the authorities.. i mean to push that balance in my favor as much as possible.
I fear one day that i will awaken to a country that has lawfully, and with good intentions, stripped me of that power... that natural right to defend myself and my property....and I fear the pro gun control advocates will awaken on that same day and say " oh s**t... what have we done"...for they will be in jeopardy just as much as I... I do not want the day to come where i have to say " I told you so"
so what say you?
who can you trust?
The gun control debate is not really about how much you should trust your government to protect you but more about can your government trust you with guns?
Gun control is a matter for the government to handle not a matter for every one of us to make our own laws depending of our circumstances.

That is the crux of the philosophical difference between gun control advocates and anti-gun control people. Our basic philosophy of government is that government is there to protect our rights, not protect us. The question is not who the government can trust with guns, but who can't be trusted with guns. My basic assumption is that until proven otherwise (by criminal or mental health proceedings), everybody should be trusted with guns. It's the philosophical difference between guilty if accused, and innocent until proven guilty.
Lucky Luke wrote: Gun control is a matter for the government to handle not a matter for every one of us to make our own laws depending of our circumstances.
The government's job is to protect rights, not impose on our rights.
I meant gun control is regulated by the government Perdidochas, what make you think it is somebody else's job to control guns?
:-D
:-D
My point is that the government shouldn't decide who can own guns, rather they should only decide who can't have guns. All should be assumed able to own guns, unless they are proven unable or unworthy to own them, such as by a felony conviction or involuntary carceration for mental illness. It's basically the difference in philosophy between having to prove your innocence when charged, or being innocent until proven guilty. |

Oh man. LOL. I knew you had a little Canada_rocks in ya.
Let's all sing after me:
BARBER:
I wanted to be... a lumberjack!
Leaping from tree to tree, as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia. The Giant Redwood. The Larch. The Fir! The mighty Scots Pine! The lofty flowering Cherry! The plucky little Apsen! The limping Roo tree of Nigeria. The towering Wattle of Aldershot! The Maidenhead Weeping Water Plant! The naughty Leicestershire Flashing Oak! The flatulent Elm of West Ruislip! The Quercus Maximus Bamber Gascoigni! The Epigillus! The Barter Hughius Greenus!
With my best buddy by my side, we'd sing! Sing! Sing!
[singing]
I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay.
I sleep all night and I work all day.
MOUNTIES:
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
BARBER:
I cut down trees. I eat my lunch.
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.
MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He eats his lunch.
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes shopping
And has buttered scones for tea.
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
BARBER:
I cut down trees. I skip and jump.
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars.
MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He skips and jumps.
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around in bars?!
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
BARBER:
I cut down trees. I wear high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie,
Just like my dear Papa.
MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He wears high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra?!
[talking]
What's this? Wants to be a girlie?! Oh, My!
And I thought you were so rugged! Poofter!...
[singing]
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
He's a lumberjack, and he's okaaaaay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
But lumberjacks don't regulate gun control, the government does.

There is no practical difference between a right that all can lose and a privilege that all can have. At the end of the day the government is the one making the laws to restrict privileges or to restrict the rights we enjoy.
If the possession of a gun becomes a crime for a specific group of people or for a specific type of guns as per the government instructions, people involved are no more innocent but guilty of this new crime.
You have illegal guns in America and illegal possessions of firearms therefore the case is proven there too.

:-D
:-D
In other words, you don't want to be responsible for yourself, but you want to assume the right to be the sole arbiter of who is for you and for everyone else.
What a pussified comment. You better check between you legs and make sure there's something there.
My God man, have you no pride in your very own humanity? What the eff do you think it is that makes you human? Your DNA sequence and that's it? You just don't have a spine at all. I'll bet there's nothing but a big yellow streak right up your back. Is there nothing to you but a stupid slogan? Get rid of guns git rid of guns git rid of guns. There's just nothing else to you. At all. Ant hill mentality.
Get a friggin' life.
No hammers this time. That was just too damn sad. You could not have hammered your own self any more than I would have.
I would say in your situation you should consider a sex change and tell them this time you want to be a man.
Oh man.
:-D
:-D

Hmm, that reminds me, I got to go buy some more ammunition. I shot too many rounds today. I am really going to start shooting more often. I keep telling myself this.
I'm also going to get my old shotgun fixed. It's a nice Ithaca.
I want to buy more guns.
I love the Constitution.
I think the Democrats are all a bunch of traitors to their country most of the time, when they are thinking the same way that the communists are thinking.
I will vote.
I will vote for my right to use a gun.
I believe the USA is about to enter a new age of realism where the people and the government wake up to the fact that there are bad people who have entered our country illegally and now we have to deal with them by force. I think the USA needs more soldiers, more people to enlist.
Having said that, we also need patriotic militias that are not government owned.
I love the USA. I love anyone who is for freedom and our way of life.
I think our government needs to be overhauled by the power of the vote.
We need at least two more political parties.
I support our troops. I support our FBI. I support democracy and our own form of democracy....one nation under God ....and to the republic for which it stands.
I think communism is alive and well in our public schools in the guise of secular humanism.
I think satanists are gaining more followers through witchcraft, heavy metal rock groups that promote satanism and that satanism is a real evil that our nation's churches need to stand up against.
I think we are in the last minutes of the end times in God time.
I think we need to do more to educate our new hispanic brethren about Jesus Christ, our nations history, freedom, patriotism and English.
I think for our own safety, we should try to learn to speak Spanish.
I think we need more guns in the hands of responsible people and less guns in the hands of those who are undesirables.
I wish more women would buy guns. They need to learn to shoot to defend themselves. Some of them could shoot the bastard pimps that are forcing them into sex slavery. Others could shoot the low life wife beaters.
We need less laws on the books regarding hunting.
We need to stop letting the anti hunters tell us what we can and cannot do.
the game commissions need to stop letting the anti hunters have a louder voice in the meetings than they do the very hunters who pay their salaries. |

Well halleluyah brother. If we all bought loads of guns AND learnt to speak Spanish .. crime would finally stop altogether, all be it for the last few minutes of existance.
I feel enlightened already. |
