Do I want world peace? On some subconscious level, yes. However, I don't think that we will ever achieve it in current society.

Just remember:

The opposite of war isn't peace, it's creation.

You can't force peace. If you attempt to control, there will always be those attempting to resist that control. Violently.

Peace is not in human nature. Also, peace's opposite is not war. The opposite of peace is confrontation. This could be sports, war, or hell even teenage drama. If you could imagine a world a total peace, you would be imagining the most boring world ever.

If you would like the part of peace that implies a lack of war, I'm all for it, but I am not for a lack of confrontation. Debate would not exist if peace were absolutely prevalent.

Also, one party is impossible. You will never get everyone to agree on all points, it is a psychological impossibility.

Have you read the book 1984? Unlike many authors, Orwell was very accurate on many accounts. An infallible system of government is nearly impossible without war. War is Peace. This is contradictory slogan is true in the respects that in order to achieve peace you must under go war. After the war is over there will be peace. If there ever was world peace it would have the same effects as a perpetual war. Yet, the government world need too create war to turn all of the critizism away from the government onto the enemy. This is whwne the government issues propaganda among it's own people. If there is nothing there for the poeple too hate then the hate turns to the government and revolution occurs. Even if there was something of that nature there then the whole seen of things would turn into a seen from 1984. Nothing good can come of a one world government with one man in charge. Besides your just trying to rally supporters to your futile cause that won't become anything more than maybe six guys who meet in your basement once a week. There are many other reasons in which I won't elaborate on how this government won't work and if it did it would full of revolts after the first few years. I voted no to your poll for this reason. Even if you do create a one world government and f**k everybody over, world peace will still be impossible.

Well, let's say that you achieve this "ideal world." What happen's when your precious government becomes corrupt? People who oppose it die. Sounds a whole lot like communist Russia under Stalin. That worked out fantasticly didn't it? Great model to base your utopia upon.

I want Justice, and justice is not possible for people without peace, spiritual peace that they are willing to share. Peace without justice is a river without rain, a river of sand. It is pointless to seek peace in a world disturbed, and if it is not near at hand it is lost forever. I have no peace but the peace I am, the peace I share, and the peace I keep.

Forgive me please; but every direction is opposite of the point you occupy. Only if you think lineally can what you say be true. And war is a big subject having many opposites, even within itself. In fact, opposition sheds a dark light on a subject and nothing more, certainly nothing more penetrating than the light of day. Which is to say, say what it is, and you will not have to say what it isn't. Best wishes.

World peace is not progressive. It is stagnant, sadly. I do not like this conclusion I have reached and would like everything to harmonize, but this is impossible and is unhealthy to attempt. Without war, ideals cannot be defined. What is most beneficial to society is a constant strain within constructive parameters. In such an environment, new perceptions can be taken and old discarded. Because of this, you would fail.
