Who is to say that the USSR would not have taken the opportunity and attack Germany while it was busy fending off the Allies? War between the two was inevitable; Hitler knew it and decided to take the initiative, but s**t happens.
I think that Stalin didn't want a war and I know for sure the Soviet Union couldn't have fought an aggressive war against the Germans till alot later than 1939, at the time the The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was a massive diplomatic coup.
None of them wanted a war but it was inevitable. As I said, s**t happens, specially in war and politics.
I don't see it as being inevitable what so ever,Germany had nothing Stalin wanted, but Russia did have things that Hitler wanted! |

If Germany didn't attack Russia, Russia would not have attacked Germany. At least not for a couple of years.
Stalin was "purging" all aspects of Russian life especially the military. About 35 000 Russian officers were executed because Stalin feared a conpiracy against him. This left the Russian military with no leadership cause no one wanted the position in fear Stalin would arrest them too for "treason." |

| Well, Japan was way behind in the industrial revolution, of course they were tougher because they were suicidal in their attacks. Plus if you compare Japan's ground weapons to Germany's, the Nazi's win. All Japan had it old bolt-action rifles, no sub-machine guns, 1000's of different size and types of rounds just for troops. The poor manufactured rifiles, handguns and machine guns. But if you compare Germany's navy and Japan's, the Imperial Japenese Army wins. But with the Japenese Air Force and the Luftwaffe, they about the same. Both rocket planes, jet aircraft but Japan is a bit ahead. |

If the Japanese were able to build the Mammoth Yamato battleships, then I wouldn't say they were way behind in industrializing. Maybe they were somewhat behind, but they've caught up quite nicely. |

I think as armed forces there is not much difference between either. However Germanys production ability once the war got started made her a much stronger enemy.
And each had strength in different areas. The Japanese navy was as good as any in the world, but their tank developement was terrible
Conversly the Germans armour was legendary while their navy (U boats aside) Was token at best.
The Japanese fighting man was the equal to any on the planet. Again different needs required different specialities. Example the Germans would have been cut to pieces in the jungle of Borneo, where as the Japanese would have been slaughtered on the steppes of Russia |

Nazi Germany only had a good army/air force, but their navy was s**t. Considering that 80% of the Earth is water, Japan has to be the strongest Axis.
the japanese army had shi**y equipment. they had lackluster weapons. the only thing they had that the germans didn't have was suicidal zealotry.
by far the germans were the most powerful.
not only did germany have the best weapons at the time but they knew how to use them.
let's just say in a war between germany and japan germany would have kicked the teeth out of japan. |
