Deicide: a controversial metal band from florida who have an open hatred of God and Christianity. Some of the titles of their songs

Once Upon The Cross
Kill The Christian
Satan Spawn the Caco-Daemon
Scars of the Crucifix

I happen to be a fan. Largely because their music is interesting. Most of all because they echo my feelings on some (but not all) christians.

Ive got some relevant evidence for this.
Check out SongMeanings.Net and you will see post after post of christians attacking the band and their lyrics, and even proselytising.
In many cases, they post biblical versus.
And, please keep in mind, these are DEICIDE Lyrics comment pages - for the fans to explain what lyrics mean to them:

http://www.songmeanings.net/artist.php?aid=836

But, It leaves me to conclude WHY Deicide has begun their conquest of hatred against Christians. Now it is evident that some Christians are overzealous, and actually do more harm then good.

This is not a place for christians. It is for the fans of the band Deicide. And I put this in the religious section because I wanted to make clear that some Christians are IGNORANT as they make others out to be.
And they need to be told.

I hope you check out the comments below the lyrics.
Click on one of the lyrics.
Most notable are "Blame it on God" and "Bastard of Christ"

I wonder if Christians on here support these posters who do nothing but cause chaos. Should they continue to make themselves LOOK BAD this way, or do you actually believe they are doing me and other Deicide fans a favor?

I'm sorry, are you actually suggesting that when someone is openly and explicitly anti-Christian, and Christians respond to this, it's the CHRISTIANS that are being ignorant?

Wow.

So, in your estimation, if I opened a blog message board for a rock band that was explicitly White Supremacist, and black people posted their thoughts on the board, THEY would be the ones that you called ignorant? I mean after all, the message board was for fans of the band, not the people that opposed it.....right?

Why would you post your opinion relevant to your CHOICE, of being Christian, on an anti-christian bands messageboard? Because, as you know, it is a choice. Unlike being BLACK. Do you understand the difference yet?

You need to look at these posters and say, "what is your motivation? Are you this deranged to believe you are doing anything besides impressing your f***ing pastor or nun - by berating fans of the music?"

Todd, you gotta realize that some christians are actually this self-deluded to believe their postings are not laughed at, and only instill more anger for more music. Essentially contributing to their overall demise as credible human beings. In a nutshell: they are making asses of themselves.

If you agree with their sentiments, post away. However, do understand this is the reason Christianty is mocked by bands such as Deicide.

I like Deicide and their music, but I've never taken the band seriously. Come on, they have inverted crosses burned into their forehead. Anti-religious is one thing. If a band bases all of their music around bashing one group of people, then they aren't worth taking seriously. They proclaim themselves as Satanists, while giving real Satanists who deal with REAL issues a bad name.

Christians are to blame for being mocked because they challenge those who attack their faith?

To defend yourself is reason for others to hate you?

Guarding your faith is grounds for hate?

Sorry, but those guys deserve what they get. It's one thing to be agnostic, atheist, or anti-religion, anti-organized religion (one of my favorite bands is Bad Religion), but to spew hate about a religious group is stupid.

I don't agree with a lot of the actions of radical Muslims, but it doesn't mean I'm going to start a band and burn an upside down moon and star on my head like a f***ing nutcase.

People who live in the real world (not the land of music ) have more right to an opinion than the losers in this band.

They have the right to their views, but they should realize that not everyone cares about their stupid rebel bulls**t.

BTW, I looked them up on itunes and listened to their music and I nearly wet my pants laughing. How can you like a band like that?

I think they are a bunch of guys who have a good schtick that will help them sell albums........ I'm glad you're keeping them employed....

If you are Christian, you openly oppose the truth of every other religion. You do realise that?

That depends on whether you consider other religions to contain "truth" that is contrary to the theology of your own faith.

Nope. I won't talk for other Christian denominations, but the Catholic view doesn't deny that there is truth in any other religion.

I heard one of the band members branded an upside down cross on his forehead and that he also named his child Demon.

Sound like a bunch of nut cases to me.

Actually there is a lot of similarities between Judism, Christianity, and Islam (the big 3) and most people that understand their religion know this.
-Judism believes in one god, but does not believe that Jesus or Mohammid were prophets or the son of god.
-Christinas believe in the old jewish prophets and in Jesus but not in Mohammid.
- Muslims believe in the old jewish prophets, believe the Jesus was a prophet of god and believe the Mohammid was the last profit.

As for Buddism and the such, I don;t know enough about them to make an educated statement but I do believe that in their minds they are doing what is right and what I do knnwo about other religions is a lot like what Jesus taught.

Ironically enough, the upside down cross is not even originally a Satanic symbol. It's St. Peter's Cross due to the tradition that he was crucified upside down.

Decide is really UberCatholics!!

What do you think about him naming his kid "Demon? Seems like he's trying to get to a point where he can't turn back or something to me.

Branding himself, naming his kid something weird. Those are actions designed for permanence. You know what I'm saying?

I guess all you can do for someone that troubled is pray for them.

Its odd that you wet your pants when you laugh.

At any rate, ive listened to Deicide since the 80's and dont give a s**t how people feel about them. In fact, I sometimes revel in the hatred people have towards them because they break every social rule in the book.

I resonate with their disgust of christians. Make this clear: not all christians. Just the Falwellian and "morality police" xtians. I want to vomit in their mouths.

So, that is why Deicide get respect.

I've heard of this band GWB, but I've never listened to their music. I'll have to give them a whirl. If you want a real anti-Christian band you should listen to Amon Amarth. A good portion of their music is about Vikings hunting down Christians and exterminating them. "Masters of War" and "Annihilation of a Hammerfest" are two particularly good songs. I'll have to check this band out though.

Also the album "The Anti-Christ" by Destruction is also a good album in my opinion (didn't like any of their other stuff though). The songs alternate between bashing Christianity and bashing Bush, and "Nailed to the Cross" is my favorite on the album.
