You seem to be under the delusion that all gun owners in the US do nothing but fear and hide all their lives. As a matter of fact, we all have lives. It is the fact that we have lives that we feel are worth protecting that separates us from you.

You can't value your life that much to be ready to risk it every time you get a fright and looking at your reaction when I tell you that your insane murder rate is going up, life doesn't seem to be a priority for you.

I'm not willing to give my rights away to the government and expect to be helped like you. I value freedom, without which life isn't worth living. I don't live in fear. In fact, I have never been afraid for my life before. But I'm not going to allow complacency to cloud my judgement. Just because I never have been robbed or assaulted, doesn't mean that I never will.

I value my own life and the lives of my family very much. Don't think that because I will kill for them means that I don't respect life. As I have also said numerous times before: it will take a lot for someone to get into the gunsights at OUR house. If they get there then they are dangerous and the lives of my family are at stake. I won't let some guy in Scotland tell me what to do when my family is in danger. (Not like you'd care about me or my family anyway, you'll just say that I shouldn't have been able to defend myself with a gun and that I am a primitive savage for doing so)

This is not what the FBI stats are telling us DrBo, you should have a look at the facts one day.

If guns were preventing murders happening, America would have the lowest murder rate in the democratic western world, it has the highest.

They're not preventing all , just like your gun control laws aren't preventing all either. They do prevent though. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone in the world was nice, then we could all live happy and blissfully ignorant like you over in the most violent country in Western Europe.

We CAN defend ourselves here, unlike in the UK where you need to be as physically strong as your attacker to stand a chance.

In other western democratic countries less than 10% of all murders are with firearms usually, in Scotland it is less than 6%.

I expect the American murder rate to be halved with the introduction of stricter handgun control laws.
