It's well known that people who are proud to revel in a British national identity also happen to be English (although recently that is begining to change as more people start to identify more with their home nation).
The question is, are there any Scottish or Welsh people who feel patriotic about their British identity as well as that of their home nation?
I feel proud to be both English and British, even though I'm fond of grumbling about certain inequities concerning the West Lothian question, so what I would like to know is, is there anyone under 50 out there who feels British as well as Welsh/Scottish? |

Nope. I get the distinct impression that the Union is holding together not out of enthusiasm for Britishness, more out fear of the consequences of splitting up....... :-| |

Sorry for not replying earlier
I am in the opposite camp from Kal'thzar
While I feel no great affinity with Britain I am British and carry a British passport out of necessity
I am a proud Scot who has no animosity towards the English/Welsh or Irish.
But that is what I want to be known as a Scot not the Anglo-centric Britishness which seems to be prevalent in today's media
You all know I support an Independent Scotland so my views should come as no surprise |

You are probably correct to hold that view. The scare tactic's and language used by the Unionist parties in Scotland and Wales bear's witness to that fact. |
