i can only think of 2 reasons for the israeli massacres in lebanon.

1- either israel does not understand the reality of hizbollah, witch has more than 90% of the shiite population of lebanon who would rather die than turn against hezbollah.

israel will continue distroying lebanon until commiting a genocide, because those people will never, ever surrender to israel.


2- Israel was waiting, or maybe even israel orchestrated an excuse to destroy lebanon. Lebanon is completely torn apart, we have no more roads, or bridges, or airports, or seaports, or factories, yes even milk, and nutrition, and medical factories are destroyed.

the red cross stated that 500 000 lebanese fleed there homes.

If this was the reason for the israeli offensive in lebanon, then israel already succeeded. BRAVO

I think the reasons for the Israeli attrocities have more to do with a bigger strategic significance. Israel has stated it wants to "change the rules of the game"....their attempt to destroy Hezbollah will undoubtably fail. They will never do it, no matter how much they bomb, much like Israel's incursion into Gaza will never succeed either. Israel never learns and their lack of concern for the value of human life is indeed sickening.


It is possible America allowed its proxy, Israel to cause havoc in Lebanon in an attempt to draw in Iran and Syria, thus giving America a pretext to deal with Iran or Syria militarily. America is playing with fire. I hope I am wrong here, but it doesn't look good.

In the meantime, I can only hope the death and destruction visitied on the Lebanese people will be kept to a minimum. May God be with them.

what israel is doing now is destroying a whole country, and there is no valuable reason for destroying a whole country.

as for america, america is blindly supporting israel in there war crimes as always.
And after i witnessed the chating between bush and blair in the G8 summit, i was surprised that bush does not understand anythind on hezbollah or lebanon or the whole geo-politics in the midle-east region.

that explains why he turned iraq in such a war zone, all i can hope is that lebanon does not follow iraq, in the same shiite-sunnite bloody massacres.

Spartan we may not completely destroy Hezbollah. But we can drive them from the border and the south, we can destroy massive parts of them, and rack up an impressive body count, and secure the borders while dealing heavy blows.

The main point is probably to whipe them back to how they were a decade ago, to destroy their advanced weapons, their newly created infrastructre and strength, to eliminate their arms build ups, take out their leadership cadres etc etc.

This insanity really has to be part of a bigger objective and bigger players are lurking behind the scenes. With every day that passes, it is clear the Americans are getting Israel to do their dirty work for them. You can call it what ever type of infrastructre you desire, but the fact remains it is strategically vital to Hezbollah.

It wont be more powerful or bigger than it was before albeit it will still exist and it can and might regrow overtime but the fact remains that they will be severly wounded from our blows.

As for the PLO, the 1982 war effectivly ended the PLO as a military force. We destroye their 17,000 strong formations, seized their arsenals, destroyed their leadership cadre in follow up assasinations.

Yez Hezbollah came into existance as a result, but if the trade off was the rending of the PLO than it was completely worth it.
