If you perceive it to be "boring", then you are condemning yourself to reincarnating on Earth over and over and over again, until that point at which you realize that it is anything but boring..
well........I don't really believe in reincarnation, but it doesn't really sound that bad to me, maybe I'll come back as a Japanese school-girl
There are bigger and better things that this Earth.
This Earth is more like a prison than anything..
yes, but at least it's not boring....... :)
Nor is the rest of the cosmos...
existence-passion/joy= BORING!
You think joy and passion are incompatible?
em..........no
Oh good. Guess I missed something in the exchange.
my point was that heaven will be more then peace, it will be passion and joy as well.......these are the things that make existence a grand ole time, they are gifts from our creator. |

Will there be 72 virgins there for me too? :-D
That's not the way I see it.
But there *is* going to be food and drink, right?
My, isn't that a nice, Puritanical way of looking at the world..
All these things are manifestations of the material, John (food, drink, sex, etc). They are, in so many words, illusions which sustain the temporal body. I'd be surprised if that which is eternal is capable of partaking in such limitations as food, drink, lust, etc..
Jesus said that we would eat and drink with Him in the Kingdom....and shared a meal with people after He rose from the dead in His spiritual body. So it seems to me that there will be eating and drinking.....
But you are prolly right in regards to people in Hell.
Really? You really took that literally? Man, this explains a lot. |

It depends what heaven is:
If it is a sprititual realm in which we are in spiritual bodies, then no, there's no need for food.
If it is the "New Jerusalem" as described in Revelations, then maybe, it appears as life would still be physical the way it is described.
If it a place where we await judgment as some believe, then who knows?
I think the term Heaven has been mistranslated somewhere, there are too many depictions and possibilites. In Genesis it describes heaven as a firmament and also described it as space or sky. |
