This section will never stop talking about palestine and israel, iraq and whatsoever, so i think this news might make the section a bit interesting.

the news says that Dallas Austin, a grammy winning record producer, was sentenced to four years in jail in Dubai, UAE, for being guilty of carrying 1.26g of cocaine, but he was then released for being "a famous person".

do you think this a fair trial? was it right to release him?

I don't think. it would have been better if he stayed.

you could check the news on any UAE news sources such as gulf news.

I don't think its fair for other people because status does not make one above the law.

I agree but if they had sent him to prison it might put of other coked up celebs from going to Dubai on vacation, which could hurt the tourist trade.

How is it fair in any way if for mere possession you can be sentenced to four years in jail? That seems pretty draconian.

Status should be considered.

THen what would we do...?

We need those people coked up and lieing, to keep us entertained.

If there all in kail then were screwed.

We have no tv, no movies, a better eduication. our nations work harder, bad for lazy ppl.

While the sentence was fairly harsh, that is the law in Dubai, and if you go there as a guest you should obey the laws there. And they should be applied evenly.

I think that is likely basically a way to let the guy go because they took a payoff. The guy is rich after all. And that gets you some leeway where ever you go.

These are the facts of life in this world.
