Thus spake the Lord, Thy God:
# Exodus 21:22
"If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows.
Exodus 21:21-23 (in Context) Exodus 21 (Whole Chapter)
I therefore allow abortion at ant time, for any reason. |

Good thing we aren't governed by the bible.
Notice it doesn't say intentionally hit the woman in the belly. Notice it says damages must be paid. Notice it doesnt say kill your unborn to make life easier on yourself. |

He is either kidding, or cognitively impaired...
So no need to worry, the pro-choice supporters have not slumped that low... yet. |

| not only that the key word is the word prematurely. it says in another part that if you hit a woman and the baby dies then you are respnsible for murder. |

It is funny when these quotes from Exodus are pulled to support abortion.
You might also notice from the same conversation between God and Moses that God also lets us have slaves.
So I guess according to the bible owning slaves is okay too.

| not very many people on the pro-choice end of the abortion issue will quote the bible to make their point. as many would feel that this is not a religious issue. |

But if the child is a bastard, the men get off scott-free. Got to love the biblical justice system. |

i understand. it's just that this issue is not a religious one. it has many angles and all can not be answered by any one persons religious beliefs. the religious angle can be answered by any one persons religious beliefs.. but the issue itself can not. |

....my point is that it is not a religious issue. it can be religious to those with religion, however it is also a legal, scientific, personal, and moral issue. that was all i was saying. |

Wow it's a good thing that you aren't in a control of power because either your critical reading skills are shot, or your logic is seriously flawed. |

a) No one uses old Jewish law, not even old Jews. Old Jewish law also condones slavery. Am I to believe you're advocating an ass-backwards fundamentalist Jewish theocratic state, or that you're simply being a retarded troll? Somehow, I think it's the latter.
b) Even assuming you WERE interpreting scripture correctly, and you're not, it doesn't matter what Jehovah / Yahweh / Allah (or any other name you want to give him) says, in a society that has freedom of / no state sponsorship of religion!
I don't believe in gods or devils or souls, but that doesn't mean morality doesn't exist, that society shouldn't behave under moral philosophic principles. Murder is unacceptable in a civilized society, and this is murder. |

Murder if it's deliberately caused by the parent after pregnancy begins. |

Would you consider it permissible in cases of rape or incest? |

| It's funny how supporters of abortion use passage from the Old Testament while refuting passage from the same texts to outlaw homosexuality. |
