A person carrying a gun pointed it at another in a road rage incident, just like the anti's predicted would happen.
Oh wait, he's a cop.
Quote: A Houston police officer has been accused of pointing a gun at a driver on an Austin-area highway during what officials call a road rage incident.
HPD
Officer Henry Davis
According to the Round Rock Police Department, Officer Henry Davis was off-duty Friday night while driving on Highway 79 through Round Rock.
Police said Officer Davis got into a dispute with Steve Quakenbush while on the road.
Quakenbush told police he made a rapid lane change and then Davis honked at him, to which Quakenbush responded by making a common obscene gesture.
That's when Quakenbush said Davis, who moved next to his vehicle, displayed a handgun and started yelling at him. |

| That's as good as the 2 city cope here a few years back that got in a shootout downtown with 2 guys and fired 165 rounds to hit them. They shot up the entire B/A building. I think they only hit these guys one time each. I'd say someone needed more training. :rotf: |

| Believe it or not they both had been coming from a range and that's apparently what they had, m4 ammo and glock were used. Also, the tv station reported they used shotguns also. So in all honesty I do not know how much they normally carry, but they couldnot hit the inside of a barn if they had been in it. |

| Then there's the case here in the L.A. area in California, where the officers surrounded a "suspicious" SUV that supposedly led them on a chase, although he really didn't and while in a circular formation, fired over 120 rounds at the car, killing and wounding some of their own and hitting several homes, but only hitting the car with a fraction of the rounds fired, and gave the guy three very minor gunshot wounds. Turns out the guy wasn't even guilty of anything, wasn't running away from them, and therefore was not charged with anything; he ended up getting a major settlement from the Sherrifs. I watched it live on TV, too. Sounded like machine gun fire, there were so many cops firing rapidly with their pistols. |

Weve had our fair shair of cockups, even though we don't have to many policemen with guns, so I am sort of glad the policemen here don't have guns, for my saftey if not for their own. |

I don't consider Americans savages, backwater hicks or something but one does question the American love for guns.

:-D Americans don't nessesarily love guns. Some people do, some people hate them. I own quite a few, But I don't love any of them. Fact is most of them never even get to go to the range. They have value! just like stocks, gold or real estate. They are very easy to turn into cash if needed. I collect guns because that's what I like to collect. Some people like to collect G.I Joe dolls or stamps or cars , Etc.
I'll give you a good example: Earlier today while walking through a flea market I came across an old Belgian Double hammer 12 Ga. made around 1885, I couldn't resist, so I bought it. I will never shoot this gun, well probably never. I didn't but it to shoot or for protection or in case of a war. I bought it because, 1.) I had the money on me. 2.) I like Guns and antiques , in this I have both. Besides I have always like the old rabbit ear shot guns. Some people may think guns are sinister objects. I will never buy into this mentality, Because it has no basis in reality. I have 22 guns, some I have owned more than 20 years. Not a single one of them have ever been involved in hurting anyone.
Just because you aren't into a certain thing, doesn't make it bad. |
