I DEMAND that the World Cup sticky be removed. Now this has nothing to do with liking or disliking soccer, it's just logical. The stickies are there in the Lounge for topics that should always be open. For example, if the Name Change thread isn't posted in for 6 months, it needs to still be there, because someone will need to use it. But other threads should only survive based on the merit of their popularity, the participation in them. If people decide to stop posting in the World Cup thread because they are uninterested, then it shouldn't sit there as a sticky, it needs to be let gone like all other threads. If it is popular enough, which it is, then it will stay at the top of the Lounge by its own merit.

My case has been made.

I'll just say it because you were too polite to come out and say it.

Soccer blows.

If other people get a World Cup sticky then we sure as hell better get a Football Playoffs sticky.

World cup has worldwide appeal and its a pretty short occurance. It's not like it'll be there long anyhow.

Ok so that is the same as MLB and NFL playoffs. Same amount of popularity, just different places of where the people are from. And if it won't be there long, why sticky it? (Although it would be there long, until the WC is over).

Ok. Is this just something to complain about for the sake of complaining? I mean.. is this really a big deal? :-| I'm a chick and could really care less about baseball, football and soccer... but yeah, I guess that's beside the point.

Anyway.. how about when the Super Bowl comes around or the World Series, you make a thread about it and I'll personally make it a sticky thread.**

Would that appease you?

**Assuming of course, that I'm still alive by that time.

IMO, if something is getting enough hits to stay on the top, there's no need to sticky it. Stickies are for things that don't get hits, but are important to read. (I don't like having to scroll down half a page to get to the real topics, in case you couldn't tell. )

I'm guessing the mere fact that you've taken the time to complain means that you're pissed off that a non-american game/thing/anything has been made a sticky... Awe... boo hoo

That would certainly appease me, as it would be fair to all.
