Get this out of the History Forum. Take it to the explicitly listed Religion forum. |

| They don't have a place in the bible, because they are irrelevant to the message which is at the heart of the bible, and the historical part, which covers the history of Israel as well as the early history of man, represented mostly in an allegorical form. There's no point to putting dinosaurs in, and specific races are usually not mentioned, as there was no reason. Seeing that most of the characters in the bible are from the Middle East or Africa, there's no reason to specifically mention negroes or other colored people. To do so really makes no sense at all. |

| Nobody ever said that Adam and Eve were white. They were probably a light tan color judging from the fact that the Garden of Eden as described is in present-day Iraq. The bible doesn't mention their color. I think you're confusing old paintings and popular conceptions with the bible. Dinosaurs are completely irrelevant to the bible, and it is likely that the writers didn't know about them, although it is possible they did, since dinosaur bones had been discovered even then and earlier. |

Some historians believe that Jesus' teachings were very political for the time. One example that immediately comes to mind is the money changers in the temple. Many religious teachings say Jesus was mad that people were selling in God's house. That may very well be true. However, many historians see it as a political stance of the gov't taxing the poor too much (greed).
About the 'colored people', as stated earlier, the assumption is that Adam and Eve were white. There is no proof of this. Why would it matter one way or the other?
About the dinosaurs. Many people point to the fact that the bible doesn't mention dinosaurs specifically as proof that it is fake or untrue. While I don't recall it mentioning dinosaurs specifically, I do recall it mentioning creatures that could be accepted as dinosaurs or dinosaur-like. Regardless, the bible doesn't mention airplane, computers, cars, Chris Columbus discovering the new world, Joan of Arc, etc. The point is the bible is not a science book nor is it an accurate history book. It is a series of stories that are put together to prove a point, nothing more.
At least this is the way I see it. |

To have the dinos in the bible would just mess everything up...
First the questions would be why did he make them first because we know they were here way before man....
Second why did he let them rule for so long we know they were here for a very long time mostly unchallanged by nature...
Third why did he kill them off...These thing did not get wiped out by us like most thing nowadays do...
The dinos make no since to be in any religious text because they alone controlled the planet for a very long time without us here... |

Hope that clears everything up. |

Well, dinosaurs don't. Colored people are descendants of Noah, just like white people. |

Who says that Adam and Eve are white? I've always thought they were brown. Humans are genetically variable. SOme of Adam and Eve's descendants got darker (mutations and variablity) others got lighter.

No real gods anyway...There are a few made up gods but people fight over which one is less made up...Why they play with them some of us are searching for the real truth whatever that may be.... |

Quote: First the questions would be why did he make them first because we know they were here way before man.... Counter question: how is that important? He made "angels" before us as well...I think I am missing your point.
Quote: Second why did he let them rule for so long we know they were here for a very long time mostly unchallanged by nature... Again, what difference does it make? Also, do you have a pet? |

I wish there was a third option, also the most intelligent answer. "I do not know and neither do you"
Also get a clue we are all 'colored'. If you mean other than white, you must have had a better upbringing than that. |
