My forum name ought to be a good indicator of what I think about Pelagianism...:)

The doctrine of Original Sin strikes me as one HUGE rationalization to explain Man's current state. It's a man made artifice with nothing to support it save more man made philosophical arguments. It's bunk. Besides, holding an entire species responsible for the failings of Adam and Eve, two mythical entities, is just plain silly. But such things happen when myth is taken as fact.

Yeah i was thanking my lucky starts with that one, wrote a beast of an essay.

Was mainly on free will and determanism, but predetination plays an important part of that and allows you to drag in St. Paul, St. Augstine and Pelagius into the mix.

Beautiful.

You are not pre-destined to inherit heaven at birth, but upon the knowing of Christs sacrifice for you. Pre-destination takes away the inherit free-will god bestowed upon us. Our free-will is still intact but upon being born again will be taken away by our giving ourselves to christ for his control. Think Espinozas dragon for more insight on why God knows whats going to happen.

Intresting view, however how can you in effect loose free will, even if you accsept chirst you can at any time choose to revert can you not.

Surely thats free will.

Surely thats free will. Well of course thats why we still sin :). We fully submit ourselves to the Lord, but since we are fallen we will not achieve the true greatness/correctness God wishes upon us. You do know Espinoza's Dragon right?
