Done

With so many other issues at hand currently (Iran, Irag, Bin Laden, border/immigration, gas prices to name a few) I find this re-born attempt of banning gay marriage as nothing more but a ploy for GW to regain some of his lost conservative/religious backing. There more important things going on currently than two guys or two women wanting to get married.

A clear demonstration that it is simply more important to the administration to restrict how people can live their lives, than it is to improve the general quality of life for the country.

I agree. I would go further to say that one reason why they do this is because it is easier. It is easier to tell someone what to do or not to do, without giving any intelligent argument as to why ('end of story'), than it is to demonstrate why it is right (or wrong).

This amendment will fail miserably - again.

Either way, in the end, I will continue to live my life happily and enjoy the relationship I have with my husband. It feels alot like a marriage to me and nothing is going to change that; therefore, the people who don't want us to legally marry have already lost the battle.

The GOP knows fully well that this won't get the 67 votes needed to pass the Senate, let alone be ratified by 38 statess. It is all just a ploy to galvanize social and religious conservatives for mid-term elections.

I think it is rather designed to distract people from the war in Iraq where sectarian violence is now rampant, the soaring oil prices, conflict with Iran, rising interest rates, and the federal debt.

This may be a bit cliché and extreme, but the Nazis used the Jews to distract people, the GOP uses gays to distract people!

I don't mean to be rude or insensitive, but how exactly are you winning when you are subject of systemic discrimination and governmental prejudice? :-|

Figuratively speaking. They lose because I don't give a s**t what they do with their lives. I could be doing the most degrading thing on this planet ans still get joy by them being worrief about it because it pisses them off so much. That's what I mean :)
