Ignoring the supreme court, destruction of the national bank, causing depressions, invention of the spoils system, not to mention the whole "you're not white now get the hell out" thing. I'm not a fan of genocidal psychotic tyrants in the Oval Office. |

So killing thousands of the native inhabitants of the land you're stealing is democratic? I guess they forgot to vote then.
I agree, Andrew Jackson is the worst, I deface every 20$ I have, I hope he dies. Followed closely by Truman.
Best I'd have to say is Lincoln, He put a lot of his heart and soul into the nation, and the nation ate it up and asked for more. In the end he did well under the pressure of the union breaking, and fighting eachother... |

He's been in his grave since 1845. I'd say that's a wasted curse. |

can be.....and in this cause it was, the decision to remove the American-Indians from the South-East was wildly popular among Jackson's constituents..... |

Agreed on Jefferson.
Out of office: No big government!
In office: Well...I'll just sorta...stretch the constitution a tad... |

Best - Washington
Worst - do i have to pic just one?
Most overrated - FDR
My favorite president has to be Ike, but mostly for what he did in the service. He saved countless allied lives in WWII. Someone might come along with some examples of where im wrong. Fact remains he was the commander on the western front on the winning side.
My grandfather was introduced to combat under his command on D-day and the following months. I might not be here if it wasnt for his brilliance against a much more capable force that had better equipment and much more experience in the theater of war. |

Best- Washington
setting the model for administering the government
or Lincoln
saving the union is more than most presidents ever did
Worst- Rutherford B. Hayes
Compromise of 1877 delayed civil rights reform for a century
Overrated- FDR
Created programs leading to the wealthfare class, allowed the Soviets to take over Eastern Europe leading to the Cold War, and never stopped the Depression (despite the perception that he did) until WWII started. I think he may be the Caesar of American history b/c he used government programs to buy popularity among the lower classes. |
