What do you mean by crappy customization? As for speed, why waste time with an inferior browser that you have to tweak, when you can get ultra fast browsing right off the bat? And on top of all that Firefox is still bloated. You have to restart the browser for the extensions/themes to take affect and with Opera all you have to do is apply the themes (and it will be the same with the widgets in Opera 9 I imagine).

Example:

I use Flashget to download big files, because it kicks royal ass. I would normally have to select the link, copy it, open up Flashget, paste it in there...you get the idea.

I downloaded a flashget extension for Firefox. Now, whenever I go download something, I can click "flashget", and it will automatically open it up and start downloading with it.

Here are some extensions you can get for firefox.

Why would you use Flashget to download big files? I remember using that program like 4 years ago and it blew then.

Everything in Linux is tweaked unless you keep it boring and standard numbnuts.

Opera is not ultra anything. Firefox runs just as good and Opera's customization is inferior regardless of rebooting or not, Opera is fugly.

wtf? Try it again then, because it sure as hell doesn't blow now.

As long as the server you're downloading from allows multiple connections (e.g. almost all of them), then this increases the speed of your downloads a LOT.

Flashget also searches the web for the same file, and downloads from the fastest mirror.
