Someone help me before I throw this stupid thing out the window.
Why can't I figure out how to change the registered user in Windows XP?? I'm tired of my screensaver user name coming up as "Michelle", as well as the desktop folder name and everything else.
And please don't tell me I have to reinstall XP. Please. |

Do you have an administrator account?
Do you have a second registered user set up? I beleive the "guest" account should still be automaticly there.
If not make one and turn off the screen saver in Michells account and trun it on in the admins.
Always have a seperate admin account so young relatives eyes and hands do or see nothing they are not supposed to. |

| The only other recourse is to find where in the registry it's recorded and edit that particular line.If you don't really know what your doing though you can totally screw yourself over so I'd do what Pzatchok said to do. |

That was my idea too, and I'm pretty sure I know where in the registry that particular listing is, my only thought about that though is so many of my programs reference the desktop folder that if I go ahead and change it the comp might have a meltdown.
Whatever, maybe I'll just let the computer think my name is Michelle. Screw it. |
