This should have a big affect on the desktop market and so many others as well. |

| Ya, I read about that on ZDNet. This will be great, as I won't have to go through all those loops to get Java RE installed and configured in Ubuntu. I wonder if it will be open sourced in time to ship with Dapper. |

I thought Enders told me they abondoned Looking Glass and keep it around for the open source community to tinker with. |

If I'm not mistaken, it's JAVA based. So if they open up JAVA, and let open source geeks play with it, It may very well come alive like the Fedora project or Ubuntu I'm thinking. |

By making JAVA open source Sun is admitting what most people have known for a few years - JAVA is dead. |

Nonsense, Java is still very important, and the "speed" issue is quickly disappearing--it beats C and C++ in many benchmarks already. |
