This is an unexpected turn of events. Looks like the PA is starting to rip itself apart, but let's hope not.

not much to say...except, good thing they´re sending aid packages to the palestinian people (note: palestinian people and not hamas government), and that abbas is improving diplomatic relations with european countries. Other than that, hamas is not looking to good.

Hamas is really shooting themselves in the foot. They have nowhere to go and they're stuck between a tight spot and recognizing Israel.

It’s not so unexpected. Abbas already admitted without funds, the PA will not survive. His only choices are to figure out how to get the Americans to give them the funds they need to operate or cease to exist.

I doubt they will need the Americans. It's just that Abbas is somewhat an appeaser to the Israeli regime, just like most Palestinian leaders are. The fact is, these people have been caring more about their own wealth and that they fear the western powers.

Let me ask you Saracen, if you could stop all the fighting between Israel and the Palestinians tomorrow by accepting the nation of Israel as defined by the new border along the existing and projected lines of the security fence, would you do it? Or would you want to continue the “resistance”, or “vengeance”, or “struggle for recognition”, or however you want to phrase it?

How about I recognize Israel and then negotiate for final borders? The borders that Israel are creating wall off the West Bank not only from Jerusalem, but also from other parts of the West Bank. Thus, I would choose to negotiate.

No negotiations. End the fighting and build a nation or continue fighting in hopes of getting some tiny spot of land inside the projected route of the security fence. War or appeasement?

Peace, though I would passively resist for negotiations.
