I always thought um, 'halfbreeds' were entitled citizenship in both countries. He was an honourary citizen though, and they named a warship after him.... |

I'm pretty sure he wasn't a citizen, it was possibly because he did not meet the residence requirements or perhaps he had to renounce any dual citizenship to serve in office in Britain. |
