I don't support affirmative action, but this is clearly a case of discrimination!!!

Gov. Ernie Fletcher signed an executive order on Tuesday removing language from the state’s affirmative action plan specifically protecting gay men and lesbians from discrimination.
Administration officials said the move was a way to increase the number of blacks and women in state government.

On the surface, this sounds discriminatory. However, I would need to see the wording of the plan before and after to make that determination.
Either way, I am against affirmative action. |

Well said. Sometimes we need to dig deeper into the wording to see if it was a bad thing or not.
Anyone have the actual wording before this happened? |

| I live in Kentucky and this deal is really crazy. I'm not sure if this is the same thing but I heard that the state government is making it illegal for ordinances protecting gays to be put in place. It used to be that if an employer found out that his/her employee was a homosexual, he/she could not fire the employee for being gay. But this new bill makes it to where the homosexual is no longer protected. I really hope that this plan doesn't not make it. It would promote and endorse inequality in our society and actually send us back wards. |
