The dog needs to be put down and the owner arrested for attempted murder of a police officer.

Nobody needs this programmed attack dog.

I saw that video too, that's from a while ago, though. I don't know if this is the same video though.

The animal control officer had every bone in her hand shattered, the owner was charged with assault with a deadly weapon but died of a heart attack before anything ever came from it, and yes, the dog was put down within the week, and justifiably so.

the dog catcher also quit her job over this. They didn't have guns to shoot with though, and the way I look at it, a cop should shoot the dog in this case



There was also a COPS video where a guy said 'heal' and the dog attacked the cop. The cop shot the dog, and wounded it and it stopped. So cops can shoot dogs

What do you mean "at least"? The dog was attacking the officer, he would have been justified in shooting it.

Oh, yeah, the cop would've been totally justified in shooting it. But he didn't. I wouldn't have blamed him if he'd shot the dog, but why kill something if you don't have to? Good for him. I doubt that I would've reacted that gently.

P.S. The dog probably got put down anyway.

Not neccessarily. Dogs CAN be retrained, and if someone is willing to spend the time and effort they usually can be changed. In a split-second decision between shooting the dog and getting my leg chomped I will shoot the dog every time.

Depends on who was at fault. Many many many times the dog is provoked into attacking, whether consciously (teasing etc) or unconsciously (trespassing on the dog's territory).

Unless you are just talking about the dog in this video. I couldn't view it from work. What kind of dog was it. I was just assuming it was an attaack dog, not a jack russell or some yippy dog. All of my shoot to kill the dog statements were based on it being a 100lb kindof an attack dog.

It woudn't have been justice, but it would have been self defense.
