Is it just me or is trying to prove that there is indubitably a God somewhat like trying to prove that you are feeling a certain emotion? You can say whatever you want to convince someone that you're happy, but there's no way to physically prove that you are. Why do people waste their time trying to do so if it quite simply can't be done?

They feel very emotionally strongly about it and try to ascribe truth to what they are feeling, even though phrases like "God exists" aren't even propositions at all; their effort is futile.

It has been my personal experience that those people who go out of their way to prove, or disprove, the existance of a higher power (God, etc) are either unsure of their own beliefs, and thus need validation, or they are incapable of allowing others to believe differently, due to a superiority complex.

For those who are truly strong in their beliefs, the threat of someone not believing the same doesn't really matter.

The Xtians and Muslims can believe whatever they want. My problem is that the extremes in both groups want to kill gays, take away women's rights, destroy freedom of speech and establish state religions. This is why I am happy to disprove their fallacious arguments.

Exactly
You can't prove a feeling or prove a belief - these things are all too personal
And even IF we could prove a supreme being does exists, most people wouldn't believe it anyway
so..........
