| They are not Devil worshipers though they sometimes appear to be L.Ron Hubbard (the founder) worshippers. They are considered a cult yet deny it adamantly. They have gone so far as to use the courts to bankrupt the Cult Report Hotline( I forget right off the actual name ) and then buy it from bankruptcy so that they could stop them from reporting the church as a cult.Their Bible is the book "Dianetics" by L. Ron Hubbard which has been updated many times even though Hubbard has been Dead for many years.I guess they have a very good medium in their midst. As to why do they have so many celebrities as members that I'm afraid cannot be answered as who knows what another person thinks or really believes. |

| The founder of Scientology was L. Ron Hubbard. He was a SCIENCE FICTION WRITER. I look at scientology the same way. . . .it's science fiction. |

| I think he said once " The best way to get rich is create your own religion" he also created some very mediocre Sci-Fi. I can't believe people believe this tripe. |

And they finally settled that lawsuit where they allowed a woman to die because they didn't want a non-scietologist to examine her...
Its the religion for the rich hollywood dumb ***** like travolta... It makes no sense. You basically have to pay money to move up in the religion. More money, the higher you are regarded or whatever they do. |

| That is a good site. Seemed pretty truthful to me. I don't have an exact source, but it's a well known court case, look it up. |

South Park has done w decent job of explaining Scientology (interstingly enough)
This Wednesday (6/21) on the Comedy Channel, this is one of the "Scientology South Park' episodes.
It's worth checking out. If nothing, it is funny.
Once, for kicks, I got tracked down by a Scientologist in downtown Cincy Ohio. I had some time to kill while I waited so I decided to entertain these guys. I had to go into a room and take a test to determine my 'mental standing'. So I basically answered every question (about 200 of them if memory serves) the exact opposite way I would have honestly answered them. I was told I was 'seriously messed up!' (go figure).
The problem was I had a very difficult time getting them to allow me to leave. I felt sorry for the two young girls that were in there. They looked actually frightened while I was there. Luckily, they were able to sneak out when no one was looking. |

| I have no problems with Scientology itself. My problems are with the Church of Scientology (the organization). They sue practically anyone who dares crticize them or use their teachings against them, all because they copyright the material. Therefore, criticisms against them, in which their material is used to support claims, is brought in to court under copyright infringement. |

That is because, I believe, it is more of a business than anything else. |

To me it is a nutty cult. But really it has no more or less validity than Christianity or Islam. It just is newer and less people believe it.
To me it doesn't seem that much different than the catholic church with it's secrecy and cult like nature. |

At least you don't have to pay money to join the catholic church
But I do see your general point. Christianity seemed nutty at first I would think |

| Like most churches, Scientology attempts to stand in between man and god. |
