If you're afraid of homosexuals you really are gay.
If you're afraid of HIV stop ingesting the bodily fluids of strangers, gay or straight.
I'm not so sure about all homophobes being latent homosexuals, although I certainly wouldn't rule out the possibilities, as I've know several homophobes that actually became gay, and have been unbelievably happy in their lives since then. But that is relegated to a percentage rather than a blanket generalization.

But your third point is right on the money. There is certainly something to be said about monogamous relationships, be it gay or straight, whereas both partners know full well that they are HIV negative.

The fear of homocides is just that. Who WOULDN'T in their right mind be afraid of getting killed?

And we have the best Chinese New Years parade in the country. I go every year with my wife and daugher, and we LOVE it!! And fortunately, it didn't rain this year. :-D
It's been raining almost every day lately, though. Extremely annoying for me, since I can't really work when it rains.

I didn't mean that homophobes were latent homosexuals. I meant that being afraid of homosexuals makes you gay in the same sense that being afraid of military action by France makes you gay, or subscribing to the New Yorker.

Yeah. 1 in 4 have it. Bunch of Einsteins those guys are...
1 in 4 rightwingers have AIDS?

Only if they're gay and in San Francisco.

Speaking of culinary nightmares, why is the clam chowder so much better there?

I had no idea there were that many rightwingers in San Francisco.

And the clam chowder is excellent here because it's as fresh as can be; A San Francisco tradition that is an institution around these parts. We go out occassionally and catch our own so we can emulate that freshness.

There's nothin' like it...

By the way, where DID that percentage come from (1 in 4)?

I'm not a big-boob guy, she's cute but she looks like a friggin cartoon.

The first thing that struck me about this thread was the immediate "You're a homophobe" accusation, just because somebody points out an article that sites statistics about aids. That's the kind of Political Correctness crap that's making Americans weak.

Secondly, I completely understand why people don't want to hang around somebody with aids. It's a frequently terminal disease and they're afraid. That said, here is a link from the Center for Disease Control (cdc.org) that shows how difficult it is to get aids. Learn about it and apply to your restaurant, if you don't already:

I didn't accuse him of being a homophobe simply because he cited the article. I accused him because of his interpretation of the article: "SF is the most dangerous city in the U.S., b/c there's a bunch of gay people there and they have AIDS."

By the way, I get a kick out of someone from California telling me, someone from Alabama, that I'm too PC. Talk about shattering stereotypes.

lol, actually you have no idea. I am very politically incorrect, and I live not only in California, but in Berkeley, the center of the Political Correctness world.

But people here hate arguing politics with me, so I have to get my fix online.

That's funny s**t. I have a hard time talking politics with people where I'm from. Not because I'm too PC (I'm really not), but because I'm **gasp!** A LIBERAL!

Not that the picture isn't awesome, but it's probably best if we keep the debate on topic...but I will add that I now understand why in their national anthem, they claim they will fight and die for their country...
