I'm in the restaurant business, and someone gets cut in the kitchen once a week. That would make it a dangerous environment in which to work with someone who has H.I.V.

HIV is a fairly weak virus, it takes large amounts of fluid transfer to get it.

So unless you feel like having large amounts of unprotected gay sex i woulnt worry about it.

Have you ever ingested the blood of someone cut in a restaurant? I would say that if you can avoid that, you'll be ok. Also, as someone pointed out, having HIV doesn't make you dangerous. As I said, maybe SF is dangerous if you're in the habit of having unprotected anal sex with strange men. Or lapping their blood up off the kitchen floor. Regardless, I'd say you stand a better chance of being shot in a city with a high murder rate than you do of moving to SF, landing a restaurant job, being present when a gay person who has contracted HIV/AIDS is cut, and then somehow ingesting their blood. Call me crazy. Or PC, or whatever. I'm just thinking rationally.

You are aware that HIV is spread through blood too, right? That means if someone gets cut, there is a chance that someone else could retract the disease. By the way, protection during anal sex is probably not going to save you from HIV either.

Maybe, MAYBE, if you s*cked all the blood from an HIV person there is a single digit percentage you could contract the virus, but I doubt even that.

More importantly, Why the hell are you serving your customers food with blood on it? I'm in the restaurant business too, preparing and making food. I've cut my fingers numourous times and I'm always told to leave the area immediately, the food is thrown away, and the area I was working in is thoroughly cleaned, and I'm not even infected with any virus.

I hope the DoH closes your disgusting restaurant down.

My dishwasher sliced his finger while washing dishes. Who knows how much blood could have dripped into water, or onto a pan. I had a cook who was a little under the weather and coughed a few times during her shift(away from the food). If she had been HIV positive(and less cautious), would YOU want her preparing your food for you?

Yes but that dosent make them dangerous, it would be near impossible to contract HIV from blood dilluted in dish washing water.

The HIV virus is not particually infectious.
