Also executing terrorists is a really dumb idea
Yeah, I'd give them a life sentence of hard labour, in a prison that made Bang Kwang look like Pontins......... |

Why? It's justice. I don't give a damn if the terrorist "wants" to die or not.
It creates matyres that act as a propaganda tool for the terrorist organisation in question. Look what happened when the British Army executed the Irish rebels after the Easter Rising. Better to just lock the bastards up in a deep, dark hole until the world forgets about them...... |

Let them become matyres then. Anyone who attempts to do the same thing because they're inspired by this matyre, we'll execute them too.
So, given the choice between justice and victory. You would choose justice.
I would think about it, because it the choice you have to make, whether you like it or not. |

You call these men terrorists? Jesus Christ I haven't heard so much tripe in all my life! You are a nutcase! By the way, they're martyrs, not matyres! |

I called them 'rebels' in case you hadn't noticed. Even if partisans of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party engaged in armed violence in pursuit of their political aims, I'd still consider them rebels if they did not target civilians, no matter how much I disagreed with their political objectives.
However, the actions they took did result in thousands of needless deaths, which, in my opinion, ensured the partition of Ireland into two states was inevitable by radicalising both sides and sparking a bloody civil war in which many people died, for a de facto independence that would have been granted when the Home Rule Act 1914 would have been implemented post-war anyway..... |

| Apologies thundertaker - I saw the word "terrorist" in your post and without reading it fully, I jumped to conclusions. Fully valid post. Mo bhrón arís. |
