All my bookmarks were just wiped somehow, while I wasn't in the browser, as well as all my nifty little quick tabs under the address bar. Anyone know what happened? I'm missing a lot of very important sites.

You might be SOL, but check and see if Firefox just created a new profile for some reason by going to Start -> Run and typing "%appdata%\mozilla\firefox\profiles". If there's more than one folder in there, there is a very good chance that your bookmarks and stuff are in the other folder (the one without the ".default" extension). If not...then you're SOL.

It's a known problem, and usually happens when Firefox does not shut down cleanly (power failures, forced exits during shutdowns, etc.).

Well, I ran %appdata%\mozilla\firefox\profiles and found a folder with a saved copy of the list, so I'm just re-bookmarking them. Thanks for the help. :-D

Or you could just use Opera.

On an unrelated note... When you upgrade to newer versions of Firefox, after you download your new version, be sure to uninstall firefox BEFORE you install the new one. It stops some potential problems down the road. It's often really difficult to uninstall older Firefox versions after newer ones are installed.

No worries about bookmarks and extensions. After an uninstall, you still maintain those for the new install.

He wants his bookmarks back. Switching to Opera will not bring them back.
