I have had discussions with many christians who are literalist. They deny the existence of dinosaurs because it is not mentioned in the bible. Do any of you here also support this notion?

I'm a Bible literalist and I believe in the dinosaurs AND a very old earth. I've never met a literalist who didn't believe in dinosaurs...

If I did then that'd be going against all scientific proof so no. Hell no.

That is inconsistent with the time frames science have given the dinosaurs. Carbon dating and half-life are pretty accurate and observable. I am suprised anyone could concieve the earth to be only 6000 years old.

That is inconsistent with the time frames science have given the dinosaurs. Carbon dating and half-life are pretty accurate and observable. I am suprised anyone could concieve the earth to be only 6000 years old.

Not at all. Taking into account fossilisation and the timeframes of geology you can clearly see that the dinosaurs existed and that they died many thousands of years ago. But from the earth's geology we can see that the planet has gone from disaster to disaster and has been around for millions of years. The earth is definately not 6000 years at all.

If dinosaurs existed before the flood, why don't we hear biblical stories about how moses was helping the jews across the dry riverbed, but a pack of tyrannosaurus rexes ate them all?

That is where literal interpretations of the bible fail christians. There is only so much you can skew arguments, but fossilized skeletons of dinosaurs should make any literal christian second guess there christian directive.

You're under the assumption that the Bible is a real story though.

C'mon. Do you study the Bible? The more literal you take Genesis, the older the earth is. In this case, a literal interpretation doesn't fail christians, it helps.

I would agree the earth is very old and dinosaurs existed long before humans. The Genesis account is not inconsistent with this, but many traditonal interpretations are.

When the story in Genesis begins, the earth is already there, covered by water, darkness, no life to be found. You could theorize the meteor strike that destroyed the dinosaurs, melted the ice caps, etc...

But the bottom line is when the story in Genesis begins, the earth is there. If you want to believe the Bible, it's no problem to believe the story begins some time after the death of the dinosaurs. No where does the Bible say the earth itself is 6000 years old.

When I met my wife ...She told me that Dinos we just something we made up....I said who told you that...She said her mom...I asked her mom she said they didn't exist there was no way because the world hasn't been around that long... And that we could not existed together...I've now convinced both of them that they did exist...My wife can't believe this whole time she was lied to about this...She still believes in god but now questions alot about the bible...Her mom has now just decided that we must of lived together then but they must of all died and we lived but doesn't no why...And she doesn't care...Bible is all that matters to her...

True. But the bible is just so inconsistant with some of the facts we have.

Why kill them..Weren't they Gods creatures....They should of been on the ark, everthing else was...
