Rednecks are a race?

I would say the phrase you just used would be a generalization but not a racial slur.

I would say that the "white trash" should kind of be avoided, but the "redneck" part I would think is OK b/c some rednecks probably won't say or think that they are rednecks, even though they are.

YOu forgot the confederate flag on their truck, it has to be fairly large too,
And there are lots of them in urban cities in florida too...

While you may be more serious about this than I am, Within the so called red necks you will find plenty of people who will break any of these so called stereotypes. I know one guy who most people might consider to be a red neck, or could and he is actually quite smart. At one point was driving a ford Aspire, which is about the smallest car you can imagine. So much for the big pick up (although he has had those too) the reason he drove the little car was because it was good on gas.
