Ok. We'll deal with the signiture first;
1) Look to the top of the board and you should see the 'profile' tab amongst the other controls.
2) Scroll down to about halfway where you should see 'Signiture' next to a white space. In here you can type whatever message you wish to appear. If you wish to insert an image in your signiture then you type:
[img]Picture location*[/img]
*This has to be hosted on the internet, you can use a free service such as
http://photobucket.com/
or
http://reg.imageshack.us/
Just follow the onsite tutorials and host the file. Then find the link for that file and paste it in between the image BB code tags.
This principle also applies to the avatar photo you wish to dispaly.
3) After including all the information you wish to appear in your signiture, click 'submit' at the very bottom of the profile page, your signiture should now be upadated.
4) If your signiture fails to appear, make sure you have checked the "Attach signature" box when posting.
Next, your avatar photo:
1) Again go to the profile section.
2) Scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page, you should find the "Avatar control panel".
3) Again, host the target image on a photo hosting site.
4) Insert the destination url (web address) of the hosted photo, or the link if you have on off of another site etc. into the "Link to off-site Avatar:" box.
5) Click 'submit' and the changes should have been made.
NB: "Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 130 pixels, the height no greater than 130 pixels, and the file size no more than 29 KB."
There are also rules governing the size of the signiture:
"Recently we have noticed that people have been blatantly breaking the forum rules with regards to sig sizes. As you should be aware, an image in your signature should not exceed 500 X 200. This does not mean you can have several images in your sig all of which are smaller than that size, it means that 500 X 200 is the limit regardless of how many sigs you choose.
We try to enforce this rule for two reasons. First of all, it’s a pain for dial-up users. Secondly, large sigs can stretch the margins of pages and generally take up too much space.
If your sig(s) is considerably larger than 500 X 200, please either down size the image, or if you have more than one sig, remove some images until it fits the required size. Of course a little bit each way is okay, but when they are a third larger or more, it’s gotta go. "

Hope this helps. |
