There are too many to list, but in no particular order, here's 10:
Abraham Lincoln or George Washington
Sir Winston Churchill or Dwight Eisenhower
Sir Iaac Newton or Albert Einstein
Leonardo Da Vinci or Ludwig van Beethoven
Pope John Paul II |

| Buxford, most of those people had only an impact on their country and were not really the most important men in history. People who read and hear about storys about one person all over the globe rather than just one country has a significant impact on history. |

| The people on my list most certainly have had an impact on world history. You can thank Beethoven, possibly the greatest musician who has ever lived, for our modern perception of classical music; you can thank George Washington and Abraham Lincoln for the existance of the United States; you can thank Churchill and Eisenhower for our victory in WWII. How, exactly, have these men not had a dramatic impact on world history? |

How had George Wsahington affected France? He affected the US but did he really have world impact? No. Betthoven is important though so I'll give you that one. Churchill, that ones a toughy but I'll give you that one to. Eisenhower, not important. If you would have said FDR then probably yes.
My point is that some of your political and militarial leaders did not really have to much of an impact on history. They may have put a dent in it but nothing much at all. Although some political leaders do have a great affect on world history.
I'm also trying to say that these people didn't really affect the world. If they did then they would have deffinently been more important to us today. |

George Washington led the American forces during the Revolution. Most would agree that had he been killed in battle early on, or simply ignored by the Continental Congress, the American Revolution would've been a flop. Can you honestly image a world without the United States?
And Eisenhower was the supreme commander of the Allied forces in Europe during WWII; the American, and Allied, victory in that war can be largely attributed to him. Granted, his position as a great world leader is more debatable, but in my opinion he deserves a spot, as he truely was a great man, and led the Allied forces in the greatest and most devastating conflict in the history of the world. |
