Anyone know of a good freeware program that will enable me to recapture the unallocated space left due to deleting a partition. I don't need to recover the data, just the space.
XP-SP2
NTFS
Physical drive is not the system or MBR drive.
Thanks in advance. |

I want to merge the unallocated space with an existing partition. I don't think Fdisk will help in this regard. If I'm wrong let me know. |

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid spending 70.00 for Partition Magic but I may have to. I won't pirate software. I'm a software developer and a capitalist so I won't pirate other people's work. |

http://www.ranish.com/part/
This MIGHT work...
or even better
maybe you can download knoppix and use QTParted
http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html
The good thing about downloading knoppix not only is that it is free and legal, but you can use it for other computer maintainence tasks in the future...
A little disclaimer, resizing partitions is quite easy and i've done it many times, but if you blow up your computer it's not my fault :-o |

QTParted will run on knoppix which is bootable linux on CD or DVD, we used to use knoppix all the time at the computer repair shop I used to work at, and those were mostly windows computers anyways... |

Here's several that will do the job and they are free to try but most you have to buy if you want to keep them.
