By that same token, nuking Berlin would not necessarily have defeated Germany.
I withdraw my position, though, that the US could not have nuked Berlin. I just talked with my dad...B-29's could fly at 40,000 feet, far above anything the Germans had. Either way, the US did not have the resources to build enough nukes to kill off the Germans if they controlled Europe. Now, undoubtely they could wreak a bunch of havok, but nukes were too expensive and the Third Reich too vast for a few bombs to stop it. Besides, Germany would probably immediatly start researching ways to get their own planes up that high to stop the B-29s. |

| Maybe but the question is how fast could they do it. I think winning a war is far more important than worrying about the cost of Atomic Bomb. The US tested these weapons, I think they would have had the funding to build plenty of these to wreck havoc on the German nation. |
