i preface everything i'm about to write with two important points.
1) i have received one warning about my own "behavior" in my 18 months as a member. and i deserved it.
2) this is an internet message board about opinions. i am about to express mine without malice, without profanity, and without agenda.
now, will someone please tell me how any of us can effectively talk politics without fear of being banned? hobbie and ben huh are gone. i believe they are gone because they outdebated and embarrassed a couple of moderators and a few buddies of moderators. two of the finest minds ever inside this website are gone. i believe as a member of 18 months with good standing i deserve an out in the open policy detail of what it takes to argue over this site without fear of being banned?
i have read every word every one has written over the last few days regarding the debate between libertarians and republicans. i saw a lot of name calling, profanity, and ad hominem arguments without any humor attached on the side of the libertarians, yet hobbie and ben dare to be satirical and they're gone? let's be honest here. you can't argue with moderators. that's the truth. if it isn't then i want proof that hobbie, ben, lord and any other republicans are bad for this board.
this is a place for opinions. some of them can be quite harsh. after katrina and terri shiavo i had had enough of this place. yet i'm still here. but not for long. because the day i see quality being run off for a perverse buddy system why try to hang?
i like this board. i have spent 18 months getting to know people from different parts of the world. the walks of life i have spoken with have enriched my life. i have also made some friends off the board, some of which i believe are quality people and quality relationships. but i am disappointed in the actions of the moderators and administrators. that's right i disagree with all of you. it's time to explain yourselves completely and just admit this is a big sewing circle and i don't knit well enough.
i'm waiting. |

| Some things should remain hidden, or in PMs. expect them. |

| Edit- I'm not sure that it's my place to reveal why they were banned. |

They were not banned for posting their opinions. We will not discuss this issue publically.

They were banned for violating forum rules. I have been in contact with the Rep party leader regarding this and wish not to publicly discuss this because they cannot defend themselves. I can assure you, they were serious offenses.
Now if you wish to discuss policy on this forum then I'm all ears.
No member has been banned for debating a Mod/Admin, only if they've violated forum rules and then they went through a process of discipline. If I'm wrong, I'd sure like to see proof of this. |
